ART KILLS, 42x26, ACRYLIC ON WOOD
For this work, I combined classic Americana images interwoven with a Stars and Stripes pattern. Represented here are; americas game - baseball - in the form of the Pee Chee graphic (school), apple pie, Mickey Mouse/corporate America, the monopoly banker, our obsession with vanity, and lady liberty lost deep in the background. The images have actual bullets lodged in them, presumably shot by the kid holding an AR-15. The moment of impact was created using torn paper and burning it with the leftover gun powder from the ammo.
