KURT, 30x40x1.5, ACRYLIC ON CANVAS

When I was 19, 20 years old and attending Art School in Seattle, I lived in the heart of the Belltown neighborhood. It was the during the rise of “grunge” and “alternative music” and I lived in the very middle of it. Kurt, and Kris Novaselic were a couple of the many musicians we would run into, usually very late at night. They looked exactly like they looked on television and in magazines, they were exactly who the portrayed themselves to be. Except nicer, and well, just like normal people. My roommate and I could not believe the time Kurt acknowledge us with a head nod and hey guys - he recognized us!
